Titanfall Screenshoot Comparison : Xbox One Alpha Vs PC - Defference Between High And Low Resolutions Textures

Titanfall Screenshoot Comparison : Xbox One Alpha Vs PC - Defference Between High And Low Resolutions Textures

Titanfall is the most anticipated upcoming Xbox one video game title. Developed by Respawn Entertainment, Titanfall is a first-person online shooter game that will feature giant metal Titans. Titanfall is Microsoft exclusive game and it would be released on March 11,2014 for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Titanfall was highly praised by gamers and developers when it was first revealed at E3 2013, the game took home with it over 60 E3 awards. Microsoft and Respawn Entertainment reassured the gamers that Titanfall will blur the lines between PC and console graphics, the Xbox One version of the game will look as immersive as PC.

Respawn Entertainment earlier launched the Titanfall alpha testing phase for the Xbox One version of the game. The game’s textures in alpha version were inferior to the one that were shown in trailers by the developer, this topic caused a lot of noise within the Titanfall community and the developer was highly criticized. To elucidate the matter, Respawn Entertainment stated that Titanfall’s texture resolution was packed down in order to reduce the download size of the game so that it could be tested easily.

The matter got chaotic when an industry insider and neoGAF user codenamed Crazy Buttocks On A Train claimed that Respawn Entertainment was hiding the facts and the textures of Titanfall alpha were final for the Xbox One version of the game. To this, Respawn Entertainment responded that their previous statement is true and that would gain nothing by lying on the issue.

To check the real difference between the resolution and textures of alpha and original (PC)  version of Titanfall, Dual Shockers managed the time put up a screenshot comparison of both the versions. The comparison screenshots were taken directly from the alpha gameplay footage of Titanfall (the one that features least compression) and from the “Angel City Demo” Titanfall PC trailer.

Below you can see the Titanfall screenshot comparison between Xbox One alpha and PC version. Screenshots taken from trailer featuring the PC version of the game will be below the Xbox One alpha version of the game. As stated by Dual Shockers, “We tried to portray elements as similar as possible, even when not identical, as of course we did not have direct control of the footage.”

ASUS unveils the Chromebox - sexy and inexpensive

ASUS unveils the Chromebox - sexy and inexpensive

The home computer landscape is constantly undergoing transformations. For a while, tablets were seen as the future, but Google's Chrome OS and associated Chromebooks threw a wrench into that idea. While tablets are still wildly popular and will continue to be, many people are finding them not ideal for content creation. I love my iPad Air with all my heart but given the option, a Chromebook would be my choice for writing.

However, when I am home, I still prefer my desktop computer. Maybe I am just stuck in my ways, but I like sitting at a desk with a very large monitor. With that said I have longed for a quality Chrome OS desktop. While the Chrome desktop concept, called Chromeboxes, were previously realized by other manufacturers, those models never really rung my bell. Well, ding, ding, today my bell is ringing as Asus announces its new Chromebox and it is sexy.

"Why a box? Because with a box it houses a processor powerful enough for ultrafast multitasking performance in Chrome OS and the connectivity options to choose your own screen size, connect to multiple displays at once and even attach to any VESA-mountable monitor or HD TV. All this starting at only $179, ASUS Chromebox is the always-new computer that just makes sense", says ASUS.
The company further says, "ASUS Chromebox supports up to 4K UHD playback, letting you enjoy the best quality content from the web1. Kick back and relax as you browse the web, watch movies and shows on Netflix, or view photos from your SD card. And with a wide assortment of offline apps, ASUS Chromebox lets you edit documents, play games and use other popular apps without an internet connection".
ASUS touts the following major features:
  • 4th gen (Haswell) Intel processors deliver the best performance for Chrome OS
  • HDMI and DisplayPort for dual display support and up to 4k playback
  • Lightweight, small form design that supports VESA mount
  • USB 3.0 ports to easily share data from USB drives and devices
  • Dual-band Wireless-N connectivity for streaming HD media and seamless web surfing
  • Instant boot up in seconds saves you time
  • Chrome OS for a simplified, secure web experience that syncs all your Chrome services instantly and lets you use apps offline
Yes, you've read that right -- this inexpensive Linux-based computer can push 4K resolution. This should make it ideal for consuming 4K content from services like YouTube. Of course, people saving money by purchasing a Chromebox, probably won't be investing in a costly UHD display.

Last week, I proposed that Windows XP users upgrade to Linux. While I stand by that, this Chromebox is another way for XP users to do that. Starting at $179, this is a no-brainer for someone that only needs to surf the web and check email. This is problematic for Microsoft -- the company cannot keep downplaying Chrome OS. Satya Nadella needs to make this a top priority, before it is too late.

Chromecast SDK Available

Chromecast SDK Available

Google has announced that the Google Cast Software SDK (Software Development Kit) is available for all developers who want to add Chromecast support in their apps and (web) services. The first apps available on Chromecast came from large companies that had the engineering resources to work on a pre-release API, and that were big enough for Google to justify spending the support effort. Among them were Netflix, Hulu,Pandora, and of course Google’s own YouTube and Google Play – just to name a few.

With a publicly available SDK, scores of other developers will be able to join the party, and users are likely to see a quick jump in the number of available services. How far will this go? That remains to be seen, but this doesn’t look like too much work, and the principle of Chromecast is to leverage existing content, so chances are that we see some really cool apps show up, and hopefully some surprising ones.

If you are not familiar with Chromecast, it is a product that was launched in July 2013. The product itself is a little HDMI key/dongle that is powered via USB, and the dongle can stream and decode content directly from the web. It is controlled over the network by a smart device (phone, tablet, laptop). The concept is pretty awesome because it removes the user interface burden from the dongle and puts it into apps that want to “cast” content to the dongle.

By doing that, Google has created a compelling, always integrated way to send content to the TV. And because Chromecast (official product page) can pull content directly from the web, the “controller” device can be turned off, or leave the room at any time, without interfering with the content on the TV. Another device can take over. Watch the Google Cast SDK overview:

Google's Own Laptop: Chromebook 550

Google's Own Laptop: Chromebook 550

It seems like Google wants to try it hands on almost everything. From mobile phone market to cloud storage, this search engine giant has become the most dominating and influencing force in the market ever since it released the android operating system for mobile phones.

A few years back Google announced that it was working on a desktop computer based operating system and they called it chrome, please do not confuse it with the chrome internet browser as these are two different things. For years Google worked to build a web of services to support its operating system. Little did we knew back then that Google will come out with a laptop of its own, yes that’s exactly what we are going to review today i.e. the chrome book.

Google stated that the future of computing is cloud based. According to Google you won’t need expensive and powerful hardware as most of the processing load will be handled by the powerful cloud servers. Chromebook is a step in the same direction. It is a laptop computer that is inexpensive and is meant for people who do most of their work online. Today we are going to review the Google chromebook 550.

Features:

Google joined hands with Samsung to produce Samsung chromebook 550, while Samsung took care of the hardware manufacturing and assembling, Google supervises design and development.

It features a 1.3 GHz Intel processor that has two cores. A dual core processor means faster processing speeds and chrome book doesn’t disappoints on this, the startup time, right from the moment you press the power button to the moment the operating system has completely loaded is just 8 seconds. Now that has to be one of the fastest loading times.

The performance of chrome is attributed not to just its dual core processor but also to its super duper fast hard disk. Chromebook 550 comes installed with a 160GB SSD hard disk. If you folks don’t know what SSD is then let us tell you that it is the fastest drive out there in the market, SSD is an acronym for solid state drive and it has no moving parts what so ever so the chances of it crashing on you are minimal. Another component that contributes in its performance is the RAM, it has a 4GB DDR3 RAM. Let us assure you that DDR3 is the latest technology for RAMs at the moment.

Coming to its display, well we have no complains in this department. Chromebook 550 comes with a 12.1 inch full high definition screen. We watched some high definition content on it and we swear that it produces all those perfect blacks and whites. Every color comes alive on this display.

Pros:
  • Really lightweight and thin. It is one of the most comfortable notebooks to use.
  • Longer battery life, every component installed in the chromebook is power savvy.
  • Inexpensive, you can buy a chrome book at half the price of a laptop.
  • Free 100gb cloud storage space from Google.
Cons:
  • Low processing power.
  • Chrome operating system, since most of the world is well versed on windows; some people might find it difficult to use it.
  • Not a full blown power house, even the operating system is minimal.
If you are a professional who does most of his work online then chromebook is the best option for  you but if you are someone looking for a powerful computer to play games on it then this product is not suitable for you.

Adam Raddick is a computer engineer and has been working on chromebook development with Google since the last 3 years. He also writes electronic product reviews that explain how the computing environment will evolve in the near future.

iWatch Worth $17.5 Billion in First Year Sales For Apple, Morgan Stanley Says

iWatch Worth $17.5 Billion in First Year Sales For Apple, Morgan Stanley Says

Apple’s iWatch isn’t even official yet, but Wall Street is already predicting what sales of such a device could mean for Apple’s balance sheet if it does launch sometime soon. A new analyst note from Morgan Stanley’s Katy Huberty suggests that Apple stands to earn $17.5 billion in iWatch sales from the first year it’s on the market. That’s incredibly bullish. To put it in perspective, the iPad earned Apple $12 billion the first year it was on the market, Apple Insider said. Huberty thinks that existing iOS users will flock to the device, however.

Of course, the selling price of such a product is key in these metrics, and Huberty suggests that Apple will sell the iWatch for about $299 on average (different models could mean different price points). That may be too expensive for some new entrants to the smartphone space, and it’s on a par with what Samsung charges for the Galaxy Gear. There are cheaper options Apple will fight against. The Pebble will set you back $149 on the low end, while the new Pebble Steel costs $249.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said his company will enter new markets this year. A new connected Apple TV with a focus on apps and gaming may be one route, while the iWatch could be another. Huberty doesn’t suggest what kind of margins Apple will earn on the iWatch  - rumors of wireless charging, flexible displays and even the use of sapphire could boost the cost of building the new wearable.

Samsung Galaxy S5 to Launch on 24th Feb

Samsung Galaxy S5 to Launch on 24th Feb

It's here. Finally. The date the world eagerly awaits is finally here. Samsung is all set for the launch of the next Galaxy S sflagship phone and event invites have already begun rolling out. Samsung Galaxy S5, was slated to release at MWC 2014 and looks like Samsung is staying true to rumours.

The invite for Samsung Unpacked gives more than a hint at the launch of the S5 with the number 5 making itself stand-out in the invite. That the launch is regarding Samsung Galaxy S5 is clear enough. While last year Samsung skipped MWC and chose to instead launch Samsung Galaxy S4 at Times Square in March.  This year, looks like Samsung is all set to grab the limelight at MWC and steal the show.

Samsung Galaxy S5 will launch on 24th February and there's definitely more than enough excitement in the air. Also, the accompanying words, Episode 1 on the launch invite hint at multiple launches in the coming days. We all remember the grand way in which Samsung launched the S4 across continents. We wonder what the company will not do to match the excitement.

Samsung Galaxy S5 is rumoured to come with a 2K display and a completely re-designed look. Metal hints have been dropped earlier though none of the image links verify the fact. Additionally, the phone is also said to come with not just an Iris tracker but a head-movement tracker. Also, with news of Samsung having developed the first ever 4GB RAM for smartphones, perhaps Samsung Galaxy S5 will be a mini-computer in our hands. However, previous year's trends indicate that Samsung might choose to launch the Note 4 with the 4 GB RAM instead of the S5 or the F line. The processor might be an octa-core or 64 bit processor though all leaks point towards the latter.

With just a couple of weeks to go, we are sure the wait is getting excruciating. And the speed at which rumour mills churn, we hope to see the near-complete specifications soon enough. Feb 24th, you're just too far!
